The Shorewood Drama Department of Shorewood High School in the Village of Shorewood, Wisconsin, has had a tradition of putting on professional quality shows since its inception in 1935. Shorewood Drama is regularly invited to prestigious drama festivals including the well known Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland and the International Thespian Conference in Lincoln, Nebraska. They have preformed many well known shows including Peter Pan, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Urinetown, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Cabaret, A Chorus Line and Les Miserables.
In November 2010, Shorewood Drama concluded a successful production of Rent and over the winter months a performance of Shout! The Mod Musical (2011) and a studio production of Almost Maine (2011). This past spring they completed a production of Ragtime (2011) which was received well by audiences. In the 2011-2012 season they have performed the Laramie Project in the Fall,the Tony-Award winning Avenue Q-School Edition in February, and are anxiously awaiting to hear what Shorewood will produce for its Spring Musical this year.

Join SHS Drama for this contemporary, musical take on the grand classic tale of the timeless love between an enslaved Nubian princess and an Egyptian soldier. As their forbidden love blossoms, the young couple is forced to face death or part ways forever. Together, they set a shining example of true devotion that ultimately transcends the vast cultural differences between their warring nations, heralding a time of unprecedented peace and prosperity.
